Hot off the press!

I was looking at my Facebook (I have an addiction) however I noticed that I had a message from an old friend. She had put up the link to the contest I won with the Arizona Republic. I am still in shock!!!

I wish I had more time to bake and decorate (and less time to eat my creations) because I love it so much. I am hoping to get my food handlers soon so I can register my baked goods. How exciting it that?!?!

Here is a link to the article online...3 creative bakers win our Halloween cupcake contest

Is it strange that I want to go purchase 10 newspapers tomorrow?

Today is the day!

It has been tough for me to find time to bake and decorate my cupcakes like I was in Washington. I think a lot has to do with still trying to find my Arizona routine and I miss my decorating partner in crime Shelly Wilson!

I got a call from my mom about a Halloween cupcake decorating contest that the AZ Republic was having, my initial thought was "ya in my spare time I'll make fondant and get started". Well, I did make time...and let's just say I WON!!! I am so excited to go downtown today and meet the kind people at the paper that chose my cupcake!!! This is the winning cupcake! Or should I say cupcakes...it is actually two cupcakes in one!
I also made this cupcake now sure which one I wanted to use...I really honestly impressed myself! But this is my outlet once the kiddo's have gone to sleep I can play!
My friend Nicole from Rimsza Photography saw that I was making cupcakes for the contest via my Facebook page and offered to come over and take photo's for me! I am so grateful especially since my camera ran out of batteries 3 weeks ago and I have yet to replace them...welcome to my life! Go check out her amazing work! http://nicolerimszaphotography.wordpress.com/

Guess I should keep up on my blog now and start the process to get my "cupcake business" going since I really do love it!
I will let everyone know when the article is "hitting the press" hahaha do they even say that anymore? I feel very blessed to be given this opportunity!

Cheers to yet another cupcake adventure!

Bridal Shower

I was contacted by my friend to see if I was inerested in making cupcakes for a client of hers. I am not gonna lie....that was scary!!! But I try to live by the quote "What doesn't kill me, will only make me stronger". So I agreed to talk to her about the shower. She had thought she wanted sunflowers, but this is what we decided to go with. Teal fondant hearts.
Teal ribbon that is being used at showers as well as the wedding.
HOMEMADE teal sugar sprinkles!!! (Hard to see here, but they are there).
All packed up and ready to deliver to the location! So excited that I said I would try this!!!
The line-up! So beautiful!!! I just love the liners...did I mention I now own 300+ of this design? Sorry Snohomish county!!!
Cream cheese swirls!
Table at the shower. The mother-in-law made the wrapped boxes for the cupcakes to be displayed on and she found napkins that were PERFECT! We made a great team!
As I was taking these photo's I had a crowd behind me of family and friends that were there helping the MIL set-up!
I had my wonderful assistant with me as well! K did great!!! She helped me place them in a pattern....and we love how it looks!

Teal, black, and white. Elegant, beautiful, and YUMMY! What more can a bride to be ask for from her mother-in-law? This was an amazing cupcake adventure making 80+ cupcakes!

Strawberries

These cupcakes were completely designed by a soon to be 5 year old girl! She told me exactly what she wanted down to the papers. We had fun drawing the picture so I "wouldn't forget what I was supposed to make" according to the birthday girl.
We made these for her family party at home.

For her friend party her momma scored a great coupon so we could all go to.... I was very excited for this adventure to this cupcake shop! I purchased a Kate (chocolate with pink) and the red velvet cupcake.
***SLIGHT BRAG ALERT*** I am not gonna lie...my chocolates are better! But we had a great time at the party and it was a very fun thing for all the kids!
