Ugly Sweater Christmas Party!

I made some mini chocolate cupcakes with butter cream frosting and sprinkled broken peppermint candy on the top of them and WOW was that good! It gave the entire thing a candy cane taste.
My tray of ugly sweater cookies was a huge hit! They were so fun and it was interesting which cookie people chose.

Here is a peak at the baked goodies I had that night! It was a great time...so great in fact we forgot to take pictures of everyones "lovely" attire. Next year there WILL be pictures!

OREO cupcakes!

My family is addicted to double stuff Oreo's...which is why it is rare if I purchase them. I was looking for some new cupcake recipes to play with and I came across this one. I first crushed the Oreo's and put them in the cupcake papers. Then I covered them with my chocolate cupcake mix and prayed that they turn out.
They turned out AMAZING and my husband who thought he had already gone to cupcake heaven, was taken to a whole new level with these!
Everyone that tried them really enjoyed them, my tween even requested to take some with her to share with friends at a sleepover.

I need to thank and give credit to Bakerella http://www.bakerella.com/cookies-and-cream-cupcakes/. These cupcake frosting tastes exactly like the center of the cookies! WOW, is all I can say! My only regret is that I can's share them with my Oreo loving WA bestie...Shanna even though I shouldn't according to her last blog update. Hehehe!

Cupcakes for my Stella & Dot Jewelry Trunk Show I Hosted

I was super excited to host this since I LOVE the idea of getting together my girlfriends, snacking, & shopping *without leaving my home* SIGN ME UP! I look for any excuse to bake cupcakes so you better believe any event in my home will probably be accompanied by some baked love! The color was spot on with Nicole's sign for the party. Needless to say everyone had fun and I got to see my friends, eat hummus & cupcakes while I bought jewelry! Yes Please!!!
I made cream cheese frosting that I colored teal and the cupcakes are my regular yummy moist chocolate cake.

Did I mention that I got this necklace and other amazing jewelry completely free!!! Who doesn't love free? This is what I wore to my photo shoot for the newspaper contest that my cupcake won! Whoo hoo..... Nicole doesn't even know I'm linking her page on my blog, but she was an amazing person to work with so I wanted to pass some love her way!
Fell free to click the link to her page and just check it out! You will LOVE it!

Fondant Christmas Cookies

I was making sugar cookies with the kids and I decided to play with some fondant. I didn't make very many cookies this way since there was sheer frosting and sprinkle madness happening at the same time in the kitchen. I used the same cookie cutter to cut the fondant a but smaller since the cookie spreads a little while it is baking.
I then used other color fondant to decorate the cookies.
This was fun (for me) usually I make pour cookies and that also takes a long time, but they are so yummy!

These are just a few pictures to show what my little bakers in the making made.....

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Mini's are so appropriate

Who could turn down a mini cupcake? Probably no one! That is why I always try to make a few from each batch. So I can taste...one of the MANY perks of what I love to create and so NO ONE can say no thanks! Hehehe....it is an evil plan that I have designed so even those that are "watching what they eat" can still enjoy some cupcakes! Because life may be to short to pass up a cupcake! I made these just for those ladies that might try to say no! These go along with my next post, which are some super cute (and very time consuming cupcakes)that were for a 30th birthday party from on sister to another.

Anyway...I made the teal sprinkles and bought. I thought it was amusing that the black looks like I put pepper on a vanilla cupcake.

PUPPY Cupcakes

I had a request for puppy cupcakes for B-mans Birthday! Mom got "special" permission to take homemade goodies to school for his birthday treat! GO MOM!!! I made the boys in the class the collie cupcakes. B-man got his own special collie with a special collar!
The girls all recieved yorkie puppy cupcakes! Up on the top right you can see an extra special yorkie.
She was for the teacher! Every woman loves pearls...right?
This was the yorkie that i think turned out the best! I just LOVE the tounges!!! How cute is that! I hear that they were a huge hit and there was a crowd as they were being delivered to the class!

Happy birthday B-man! We love you!!!

Star Wars Cupcakes

I made these characters mostly from fondant. The mom of the birthday boy came over and we knocked most of these out in one night (LATE NIGHT). I am very happy how they turned out! I used vanilla cupcakes with grey vanilla butter cream frosting. WOW...they were YUMMY!

I hear they were the hit of the party!

I homemade all the fondant. The black fondant was NOT FUN! I am still perfecting that.

I also used Wilton edible markers for some of the black lines and Yoda's face.

I wanted to show the before and after of Yoda so you can see how much it took to go from a slab of fondant to Yoda!

Sunflowers

Once I saw these in my Hello Cupcake book I knew I needed to make these! They are so fun! I was nervous to use the 2 different colors of frosting in the same bag, but once I made these I knew I was in LOVE!
The Oreo's were so good! I know, we all love oreo's, but with added frosting on them! WOW! I gave the extra's to neighbors and they STILL talk about these ones!
I made these for o reason, but to try. I would love to make these again. How cute are the bugs? LOVE THEM!
