Caramel Filled Chocolate Cupcakes

One of the first things I learned on Pinterest was how to make caramel from boiling a can of sweetened condensed milk. WOW!!!! It makes an amazing soft, creamy, milky caramel. This is a different type of caramel than the other kind I make. Those are filled with the chewy, gooey, caramel apple type! Both are AMAZING!!!

This a tray of cupcakes that i sent to work with my hubby! YUMMY!!!

I am currently working on a price list...

OREO cupcakes!

My family is addicted to double stuff Oreo's...which is why it is rare if I purchase them. I was looking for some new cupcake recipes to play with and I came across this one. I first crushed the Oreo's and put them in the cupcake papers. Then I covered them with my chocolate cupcake mix and prayed that they turn out.
They turned out AMAZING and my husband who thought he had already gone to cupcake heaven, was taken to a whole new level with these!
Everyone that tried them really enjoyed them, my tween even requested to take some with her to share with friends at a sleepover.

I need to thank and give credit to Bakerella http://www.bakerella.com/cookies-and-cream-cupcakes/. These cupcake frosting tastes exactly like the center of the cookies! WOW, is all I can say! My only regret is that I can's share them with my Oreo loving WA bestie...Shanna even though I shouldn't according to her last blog update. Hehehe!

Lady Bug 1st Birthday!!!

I was asked by a long lost friend to make cupcakes for her daughter's 1st birthday party. The theme is red lady bugs...did I mention the lil birthday princess is the little sister to 3 brothers, so bring on the girly! First I made all the lady bugs, this alone took me 3 hours. I always seem to under estimate the actual time to make, color, and work with the fondant. But I LOVE doing it!!!
Some of them just had the lady bugs on them.
While other's have the letter's with the lady bug design and the actual lady bugs.
I can imagine that the brothers will still enjoy these since they are bugs with green frosting!
These turned out so cute.
I was also asked if the cousin could have a special cupcake since his birthday was also the same time. Hope they all loved them!

Halloween Cookies (part 2)

I took the cookies that I made and bagged them up with fun colored ribbon for the treat boxes. These are sugar cookies that I added food coloring to for the pumpkin colors. I rolled them into a ball, smashed them, then added a stem! So fun my kiddos loved these. These were the sugar cookies that I was up all night making. I can't seem to get to bed before 2am when I make these types of cookies! I'm not sure if I am doing something wrong with the flooding and not being efficient with the frosting, or if I just enjoy having a project to do after everyone is in bed that I draw it out.

Regardless of my time-spent I LOVE the finished products! I love even more when we share them with others and they see the finished product that they are going to get to enjoy!

Hope everyone had a fun and safe Halloween with their families!

On to Thanksgiving...........

Halloween Cookies (part 1)

I love making these sugar cookies! I am always surprised at how long they take, but I really enjoy making them! I don't enjoy spooky Halloween so the ghosts had to be handsome & fun.
This little pumpkin reminded me of the yellow smiley face from back in the day. I would have to say that this was my favorite cookie!
I'm working hard to find the perfect way to flood the cookies (fill in with the frosting) it seems to be taking me to long to spread the color out.

We found these cute little boxes to share our goodies with our neighbors, teachers, & bus drivers! We appreciate all that they do, and honestly who doesn't love sugar cookies?!?

The next post will show the finished goodies in the boxes....

I love to craft in real life.....

Often times I am greatful I have 3 daughters...I would have have NO CLUE how to craft for boys. A tall tower with modge-podge art blocks, maybe whittle wooden trains, or sew a tent to camp in the playroom.

Nope...for now at least I will stick to girly stuff! My middle princess was invited to a kindergarten birthday party.

SWEET...all little girls love tutu's *at least i think they should*. She helped me choose the colors and I got to work.

I decorated a matching hanger to hold her skirt and a hairbow (top right). So cute right!!! I'm pretty sure she loved it, but it's hard to tell when all you see from lil kiddo's at their parties is papers fly...and the backs of all the friends that are WAY TO EXCITED TO SIT!

Cupcakes for my Stella & Dot Jewelry Trunk Show I Hosted

I was super excited to host this since I LOVE the idea of getting together my girlfriends, snacking, & shopping *without leaving my home* SIGN ME UP! I look for any excuse to bake cupcakes so you better believe any event in my home will probably be accompanied by some baked love! The color was spot on with Nicole's sign for the party. Needless to say everyone had fun and I got to see my friends, eat hummus & cupcakes while I bought jewelry! Yes Please!!!
I made cream cheese frosting that I colored teal and the cupcakes are my regular yummy moist chocolate cake.

Did I mention that I got this necklace and other amazing jewelry completely free!!! Who doesn't love free? This is what I wore to my photo shoot for the newspaper contest that my cupcake won! Whoo hoo..... Nicole doesn't even know I'm linking her page on my blog, but she was an amazing person to work with so I wanted to pass some love her way!
Fell free to click the link to her page and just check it out! You will LOVE it!
