Fondant Christmas Cookies

I was making sugar cookies with the kids and I decided to play with some fondant. I didn't make very many cookies this way since there was sheer frosting and sprinkle madness happening at the same time in the kitchen. I used the same cookie cutter to cut the fondant a but smaller since the cookie spreads a little while it is baking.
I then used other color fondant to decorate the cookies.
This was fun (for me) usually I make pour cookies and that also takes a long time, but they are so yummy!

These are just a few pictures to show what my little bakers in the making made.....

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Pumpkin Cupcakes for School

SHHHHH....don't tell but I was asked to make cupcakes for a classroom party!! Now a days that is a NO NO. Which in a way I understand, there are certainly some people I wouldn't want making food for my kiddo's. BUT...whew I guess I am not that person for others! We made chocolate cupcakes with butter cream frosting and marshmallow fondant pumpkins.
When they arrived in the class I guess some people still thought they were from the store. I take that as a compliment with regards to they trust them to eat them! However, mine look much better than any regular grocery store will make them! Not to mention fresh & Delicious!!!

I am so far behind on here...tomorrow is Christmas!

Merry Christmas!

Halloween Baby Shower

I was asked by my sister-in-law (http://glambieandbrian.blogspot.com/) if I would make cupcakes for her baby shower which was a Girly Halloween theme. Of course I will do it....duh!!! Even though we had just drive from Washington and moved into a rental home the weekend before in AZ. I was a little nervous about how my fondant would act here in the heat. It looks like it did fine! I made a little baby blanket with her cute skull design (with a bow) blanket and made tiny feet sticking out the bottom.

On the other ones I made girly skulls and black stars.
The cupcakes are my YUMMY Seattle's minus the coffee filling. The pink frosting was SO FUN!

The momma to be was VERY happy with how they turned out! What to make next? I really need a kitchen with double ovens!

Pumpkin Cupcakes

I made these pumpkin cupcakes for my WONDERFUL friends that came over and helped me box up my house! I handmade the fondant pumpkins and added them to the tops of my FAMOUS Seattle cupcakes... if you haven't had one yet (you are missing out!)
If you are not sure what my Seattle cupcakes consist of, head back a few posts and you will drool! I mean understand!
They were a big hit with the ladies and the fondant i make is YUMMY! I feel bad for everyone (Pastor Jeff) who refuses to taste my fondant because he has had the NASTY store fondant that is disgusting!

I need to get some "orders" once we get a home that has a kitchen that I want to bake in...I CANT wait to come up with some FUN cupcakes soon!

I am thinking Cardinals if they can ever win a game this season.

Practice with fondant

My sister in law asked if I would make cupcakes for her baby shower which had a girly Halloween twist. So while I was waiting for my house to sell in WA I practiced my ideas.I am AMAZED with how the baby feet turned out! So CUTE...yes "back to sleep" is out the window here!
This is a CUTE skull with a pink bow, she is cute and just what I was hoping for!

This photo was the best shot of the skull and crossbones so OF COURSE it wont turn straight! This is my typical life!!!

Fondant Cake...Sweet 16

I am not going to lie...when my friend asked if I would make a fondant cake (like the one she saw on my blog) for her daughters Sweet 16, I got nervous! But I am learning FAST that everything will workout with my baked goods!
Here is the YUMMY double layer chocolate cake with my coffee butter cream frosting!
This is where I should have my picture of my perfectly smooth fondant covering, but I think I was so excited that it looked good that I just started working on the stars!
This is the marshmallow fondant covering the cake decorated with stars! FINALLY!!! I actually was able to trim the bottom correctly and it was perfect!!! Sorry, I am excited since my first one had large folds and a jagged bottom edge because I had NO CLUE what I was doing.
I put silver Wilton glitter paint on the white stars to give them a silver look. The stars are really purple, however my camera must think it is funny to make them look more blue!

I was sooo happy when this cake was completed! I loved EVERY minute of making it!

I should also mention that I REALLY did love the minute I was done with it, since it was 4:00am and I had to be up taking cupcakes and throwing a brunch baby shower at 7:30am! Lets just say i was functioning on a caffeine high all day!

My new apron

I recieved this from my wonderful second mom Judy! It was for my birthday and she sent it early so I put it up on a shelf and I actually forgot for 2 days. So it extended my birthday a little longer which is always a bonus! It is perfect! I love the fabric, the cut, and the bows!!!

THANK YOU!!!!!

Don't double the buttermilk!!!

I was supposed to be making a double batch of my Seattle cupcakes and I was talking on the phone...big NO NO for me while I bake! I know this, but I was and this is what I got! I figured out that I double doubled the buttermilk! NOT GOOD! They didn't taste horrible, but they were definitely not what they were supposed to be....

LESSON LEARNED!

Different kind of cupcakes

I made these for my sister in laws baby shower brunch that a friend and I gave her. I saw a similar idea on a blog using large wash cloths and coffee filters. I literally packed the girls in the car right after I saw these online to head to the store.
Crafting is in my blood and when I see something that I LOVE...watch out!
I made these with baby socks, baby mits, and wash cloths. Then I held them together with wire and the cupcake paper wrapped with a ribbon.
SO EASY and yet so cute! We put these randomly on the brunch table.
The decoration on the top is a button that I strung with a short piece of wire and stuck down in a fold of the fabric!
Here they are on the table with some of the YUMMY mini cupcakes perfect for a brunch.

I made coconut, chocolate with coffee, and vanilla bean! YUMMY!!!

Football fan!!!

My bff's nephew was here in the great NW for his 11th b-day so she asked if i would make some cupcakes for him....of course i will! His mama didn't want fancy so we stuck to some easy, but cool cupcakes!
I believe they enjoyed these after their dinner at The Old Spaghettie Factory! DOUBLE YUM!
Then they had to work off the food so they went to one of those trampoline places that is just completely trampolines! FUN!!!!

Glad everyone enjoyed them!!!
